Amanda and the WaterFurnace/Eagle Jet International #77 super late model made their first appearance in the TUNDRA Series this past weekend. Round 4 of the TUNDRA Series brought 30 of the best super late model drivers in the midwest to Golden Sands Speedway. Amanda qualified 10th which secured her a place in the feature race. Once the green flag dropped Amanda quickly settled into the 2nd place position. Halfway through the race a caution flag would bunch the field back up for the restart. Knowing the car was handling well in the high groove, Amanda chose to restart on the outside. Once the green flag fell, hard side-by-side racing began. Amanda quickly gained the advantage over the inside car and began to edge forward. It was then the inside car drove too deep into the corner and pushed up the track. Hard contact between his right front and Amanda's left front tire knocked the toe out on the car. Amanda quickly realized the handling on the car had gone away and she began to look for a place to fall in line. Amanda was able to hold on for a top 10 finish. Thanks go out to all Amanda's sponsors, WaterFurnace, EagleJet International, Atlantic Powder Coating, Coleman Racing Products and Simpson. Amanda's next race will be at Marshfield Motorspeedway on July 25, 2013 Photos courtesty of Jeff Blaser Photography.
Mid-Summer Race Update
July 9, 2013
It's been two months since Amanda relocated to Wisconsin for her 2013 race season. Mother Nature has not been kind to the Midwest this year. Out of the ten races on the schedule for May and June, five have been cancelled due to rain. Despite the rainouts, Amanda and SuperStar Motorsports are showing a strong start to the season with 1 win, a 5th place finish, two more top ten finishes and a 1st and 2nd place finish in the Dash for Cash. Amanda is running the #77 WaterFurnace/Eagle Jet International super late model at Marshfield Motor Speedway and Golden Sands Speedway. With a race scheduled this Friday night at Golden Sands Speedway and a double header race this Saturday at Marshfield Motor Speedway, both Amanda and the team are hoping for better weather in the second half of the summer.

Race #2 at Marshfield Speedway
June 1, 2013
This past Saturday, June 1st, Amanda and SuperStar Motorsports took the #77 WaterFurnace/Eagle Jet International super late model back to Marshfield Speedway for her second race at the half mile track. Once again the skies were cloudy and temperatures were only in the 50s. With multiple rain showers popping up in the area the program moved fast as the track pushed to get the races in. After a good practice session with the car handling well qualifying began. This week Amanda qualified 6th. Next, Amanda brought home a win in the Dash for Cash race. Then, a light rain caused a 45 minute rain delay. In the heat race, Amanda came across the finish line in 4th place. As track conditions continued to change Amanda and the field lined up for the feature. As soon as Amanda took the green flag she knew the car's handling had changed. It had picked up a push in the corner which continued to worsen during the race. Amanda worked hard to compensate for the tight condition but was only able to hold on to a 6th place finish for the evening. Amanda would like to thank all her sponsors, WaterFurnace, Eagle Jet International, Atlantic Powder Coating, Race Against Drugs and Coleman Racing Products for all their support. Amanda's next race will be in Plover, WI at Golden Sands Speedway on June 7th.
Season Opener at Marshfield Speedway
May 25, 2013
On Saturday, May 25th, Mother Nature finally cooperated and Amanda was finally able to race her first race in the Midwest. After 3 consecutive weekends of rainouts Amanda and the team were ready to hit the track. This was Amanda's first race at the wide 1/2 mile Marshfield Speedway. With cloudy skies and temperatures only in the low 50s Amanda and the team went to work getting the #77 WaterFurnace, Eagle Jet International super late model ready for qualifying. Amanda qualified 3rd in the field which made her eligible to run the fast car dash. She brought the #77 across the line in second place. For the feature, an eight car inversion had Amanda lining up in the 6th position for the start. Once the green flag fell, traffic bunched up and Amanda slipped back several spots as she tried to find a line that was moving. Amanda began moving back up through the field one spot at a time. She worked her way back up to the fifth position, but ran out of laps as the checkered flag fell for the 35 lap race. Amanda would like to thank all her sponsors, WaterFurnace, Eagle Jet International, Atlantic Powder Coating, Race Against Drugs and Coleman Racing Products for all their support. Amanda's next race will be back at Marshfield Speedway on June 1st. Click below for pictures at Marshfield Speedway.
First Test/Tune/Race of the 2013 Season
This past week, SuperStar Motorsports brought the WaterFurnace, Eagle Jet International #77 Super Late Model to Citrus County Speedway in Inverness , Florida. They brought not only the primary car, but the backup car as well. Amanda and the team spent Thursday afternoon testing the brand new car owned by Eagle Jet International. Amanda and the crew were very pleased with how well the new car handled. On Friday, Frank Kreyer, crew chief, put the back-up car on the track for some laps. Later in the evening, Amanda was back on the track in the primary car. Practice went well until the last round of the evening when an incident in turn 3 caused Amanda to slide into the wall. Even though the damage to the right front was primarily cosmetic in nature, the decision was made to race the back-up car on Saturday. Saturday afternoon, Amanda climbed into the back-up car for the first time and hit the track for practice. The crew had done a fantastic job setting up the car and it showed in Amanda’s lap times. For qualifying Amanda fell 12th in the stout field of 23 super late models. During the race, passing proved to be difficult on the tight track. Running in 10th place on lap 74 Amanda found herself in the middle of a 3 wide traffic jam with cars spinning all around her. She took a hard hit in the driver side door but managed to keep the car going. The incident cost her 4 positions. In the final 15 laps Amanda took back the 13th position. With the field running side-by-side, Amanda was unable to advance any further. Although the finish was not as strong as Amanda wanted, the team was extremely pleased with everything learned during the 3 days of testing and racing. Both Amanda and Frank identified some areas to be worked on with both the primary and back-up car during the next 3 weeks as they prepare for the next race. Everybody is excited for the first Midwest race of the season at Golden Sands Raceway in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on May 3rd. Amanda would like to thank her sponsors WaterFurnace and Eagle Jet International for their support in making this year possible. In addition, Amanda wants to thank the entire SuperStar Motorsports team for their hard work and support this past weekend.
